Rep. Anna Paulina Luna called out the visit of two U.S. legislators to Kyiv to push an extension of the war, posting: “There is not broad support for an endless war….”
Ukraine’s acting president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, had posted yesterday: “American Members of Congress Richard Blumenthal @SenBlumenthal and Jim Himes @jahimes are in Kyiv. It is an important visit during these difficult days after a massive attack. We are grateful to the United States, to the President, Congress for their strong bipartisan support.” He then alluded to the “uh, difficult” situation and his letter to Trump and to Congress on the immediate need for the U.S. to deliver anti-ballistic missiles—beyond what the present PURL program can deliver.
Blumenthal then piously intoned that he is there to deliver the important message: “Russia is not winning. Ukraine can win if we support Ukraine…. What you are teaching the world is so extraordinarily valuable….” More was posted on the official site of Ukraine’s Office of the President.
Luna re-posted Zelenskyy’s material with the comment: “This is literally propaganda and not even true. There is not broad support for an endless war and we are not your piggy bank. The President wants a peace deal and you are the one holding out. The entire world should know that.”
