Russia to Host Major International Security Forum

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, some 5,000 participants from over 155 countries and 26 international bodies are expected to participate in the First International Security Forum, which will include the “XIV International Meeting of High-Ranking Officials Responsible for Security Matters.”

Running from May 26-29, this year’s topics will focus on energy, food, and global conflicts, as well as proposals to strengthen coordination among countries of the Global South, according to a report in brasil247, which adds that Celso Amorim, Chief Advisor for Foreign Policy to President Lula, will participate in the gathering, and is expected to hold “bilateral meetings with various authorities on the sidelines of the event. The agenda also includes an informal meeting of BRICS representatives.”
