U.S. President Donald Trump summarily rejected the Iranian response to the U.S. “peace” proposal that was transmitted to the U.S. via Pakistan on May 10. “I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘Representatives,’” he posted on Truth Social. “I don’t like it—TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!”

“I don’t like their letter. It’s inappropriate. I don’t like their response,” he later told Axios, declining to go into further details about what was in the response.

Iran’s refusal to capitulate has left Trump with nothing, except to make threats. Three unnamed White House officials told Axios’ Barak Ravid today that Trump is meeting with his national security team to discuss the way forward in the Iran war, including possibly resuming military action. “I have a plan. Iran can’t have a nuclear weapon,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Monday, May 11, before the meeting. “The ceasefire with Iran is on massive life support,” Trump added.

Two officials told Ravid that they don’t expect Trump to order any kind of military action before he returns from his trip to China on May 15.
