Vucic in Beijing: Serbia and China Have an 'Ironclad' Friendship

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is in China for a state visit from May 24–28. Though he has previously traveled to China for international events, including the August 2025 80th anniversary celebrations of the defeat of fascism, this is Vucic’s first state visit.

Vucic and Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks on Monday, May 25, each underscoring the warm and growing friendship between the countries and plans for strengthening ties in areas of infrastructure, technology, industry, and people to people relationships.

The two leaders signed a joint statement on the promotion of a China-Serbia community with a shared future, and another on a commitment to promote the four initiatives of Xi Jinping: the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative.
