Economic Development of Nations, Like Their Security, Is Indivisible

It seems that the United States President cannot repeat often enough in his own hearing, that he has vanquished Iran and destroyed its military and economic capacities; yet this key member-nation of the BRICS has nonetheless made Trump confront the indivisibility of economic progress or collapse. Iran—now that the sense of relief of the MoU has worn off under the deadly provocations of the IDF—is insisting that this broad idea of sovereignty applies even to relatively helpless Lebanon. And if it applies there, then also to the Global South. The Western colonial nations cannot roll over others at war and “prosper” if no other nations do. The builders of the Tower of Babel cannot “climb to heaven” while the rest of mankind suffers.
Iran says it will keep the Hormuz Strait closed until Lebanon receives some shred of justice. The U.S. Central Command claims that Iran does not control that Strait. President Trump and Vice President Vance appear, at first glance, to be playing hard cop and soft cop over the negotiations in Switzerland. The world will find out; but Iran’s thousands-years sovereign existence is not so easily to be put into the old colonial straightjacket. Whatever its shortcomings, it is threatening the colonial powers to “do unto you what you want to do, at will, unto others,” and President Trump’s own statements have shown that he knows this. Remember, this war began with a fully unprovoked attack on Iran, by Israel and America.
This is not, by any means, Iran, alone, destroying anyone’s economy. It has a kind of “Operation Economic Fury” working with it. Even if –as must be considered unlikely—the United States and Iran quickly come to composition and the Strait of Hormuz is opened immediately, some 15 million barrels per day of oil, and its energy equivalent in Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) are missing “until well into 2027,” say the energy data calculators. The world economy faces a stagflation/depression phenomenon which will press down the triggers of collapse of the “everything bubble of leveraged debt and derivatives. “It’s the economy,” and not a good time to be stupid!
Pope Leo XIV, as well, continues his irrepressible, non-violent resistance to the inhuman “migration policies” of the United States and the European Union, which are the other facet of the new Tower of Babel project, of kicking the ladder away from the poor, by the class Jeffrey Epstein’s evil represents.
