Singapore, Russia Signal Openness for Joint Space Exploration

As reported in the briefing of June 20, Russia President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore Lawrence Wong met on the sidelines of the recently concluded meeting of the special ASEAN-Russia commemorative summit was recently held on June 17–18, 2026 in Kazan, Russia.

Although the Kremlin and official Russian state sources have not announced any formal bilateral space exploration agreements or major cooperative initiatives with Singapore, prior to the Summit, the Kremlin press office issued a statement which said, “There is mutual interest in establishing contacts in the field of peaceful space exploration and the National Space Agency was established in Singapore in February 2026,” reported TASS.
