While at France’s Versailles palace last night, U.S. President Donald Trump personally signed a copy of the 14-point Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Iran. Then a photo of the signed document was sent to the Iranian side and the Pakistani mediators. The White House posted a video of his signing online, though they still have not posted the actual text.

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian signed at approximately the same time and Iran’s Foreign Ministry then confirmed that the text of the memorandum had been officially finalized and “signed by both sides.” Later, an unnamed senior U.S. official read the text on a briefing call to journalists.

The MoU sets up a period of negotiations to achieve “the final deal in maximum 60 days, extendable with mutual consent.” The negotiations over 7 cited points are subject first to the immediate startup of implementation of 5 specified points.
