IMF Names New Chief Economist: a London Project

The Financial Times reported happily on the IMF naming Silvana Tenreyro as its next chief economist. The FT described the British-Italian-Argentine citizen as a “former Bank of England policymaker… now a professor at the London School of Economics… (She) will be responsible for providing the institution with guidance on the design of its economic bailouts and directly advising the managing director.”
