While self-promoter par excellence Laura Loomer is being attacked for switching over to the side of the neo-Nazis in Ukraine, her whitewashing of the well-known neo-Nazi Andriy Biletsky (aka the “White Fuhrer"), rather than a switch, actually reflects her long-term racist ideology. This includes her promotion of ‘white nationalism,’ her Islamophobia and her celebration of the killing of tens of thousands of Palestinian women and children, which have been in evidence for years and represent the views of an ugly faction within MAGA.
Last week, as he seeks to find some common ground with Trump via the pro-Netanyahu faction within MAGA, Ukraine’s acting president Volodymyr Zelensky received Loomer. She apologized for calling Zelensky “a self-hating Nazi Jew” and admitted that she had “really believed that you had an army, the Azov Battalion, full of Nazis.” She followed up by spending a day with Biletsky himself, to promote his ‘no Nazis here’ cover story.
Biletsky’s record is undeniable. In short, he re-established the paramilitary “Patriot of Ukraine” organization in 2005 and described its goal as to “lead the White Races of the world in a final crusade for their survival. A crusade against Semite-led Untermenschen [sub-humans].” He had no problem invoking Hitler’s famous German term, “Untermenschen,” as he had earlier explained that his difference with Ukraine’s “Social Nationalist” Party was that they tried to clean up their image to get Western supporters. (The “Social-Nationalist” party—explicitly in line with the German “National-Socialist,” or NaZi, party—had changed their name to “Svoboda,” or “Freedom,” party and had dropped the swastika.) When Biletsky created the Azov Brigade early in 2014 in order to militarily repress those in Ukraine who objected to the coup, he also designed their insignia to resemble a swastika. Brigade members sported tattoos of the original Nazi swastika.

Loomer has called herself a “proud Islamophobe” who supports “pro-white nationalism.” Last year, she promoted a new immigration detention center in Florida’s Everglades called “Alligator Alcatraz,” by posting: “Feeding illegals to the gators. We need more of this energy.” She followed with a typically snarky post: “Alligator lives matter. The good news is, alligators are guaranteed at least 65 million meals if we get started now.” Even though there about 65 million Hispanics in the U.S., the vast majority of which are here legally, Loomer denies that she was referring to Hispanics.
Loomer’s primitive racism has come more and more to the fore as the mass killings of women and children in Gaza escalated. She already held that Islam is “a cancer on humanity.” Then, in August 2025, she spearheaded a campaign against Palestinian children seeking emergency medical treatment in the U.S., posting videos of injured children and families arriving at airports and demanding their visas be revoked. (A nonprofit, HEAL Palestine, was facilitating temporary medical treatment in the US for the injured children.) She claimed they posed a “national security threat,” calling them “Islamic invaders” from a “HAMAS hot zone” and demanding that “they need to be rounded up and deported.”
Also in 2025, she attacked Marjorie Taylor Greene for opposing genocide in Gaza, posting: “There is no genocide in Gaza. MTG is just angry she was iced out by the White House so she wants to create drama for the Trump admin. They really don’t want much to do with her… she is very triggered by it and now she’s lashing out. It’s really that simple.” In another post, she labelled Greene’s criticism of Israel as pandering “to Neo Nazis who go around accusing Trump of being controlled by a foreign government... You are trying to accuse me of being an Israeli agent with zero evidence because you have become so consumed by your hatred of Jews.”
Loomer reported that her Ukraine trip was financed by “private Americans.” Loomer’s primary financial backer in both of her electoral campaigns was Robert J. Shillman, a former board member of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces whose foundation has supported the Zionist Organization of America and Christians United for Israel. Also, back in 2017, Loomer was made a Shillman Fellow of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, which provided the 24-year-old with salary support. It is not clear who financed her trip, but being a shill for war and racism may not a requirement for such a Shillman position, but it hasn’t hurt.
Loomer and Biletsky have been birds of a feather, long before this week’s meeting.
