A Chinese delegation from the National Nuclear Safety Administration, the China National Nuclear Corporation (SNNC), and the Chinese Embassy in Moscow, met with senior officials from Russia’s Federal Service for Environmental, Technological, and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor) in Chutkotka on the floating nuclear power plant, Akademik Lomonosov. The visiting experts expressed a keen interest in the plant’s technological system.
There was particular interest expressed in the storage of spent fuel, the procedures for reloading, the operating modes and parameters of the reactor plant and turbogenerator. In a working meeting in the conference hall the facility’s director presented a report on the plant’s production indicators, its technical and economic characteristics, its safety standards and their operational experience in the Far North.
