Nine people were killed and six more wounded in a Ukrainian strike on a passenger bus traveling from Lisichansk to Stakhanov in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), Head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik said, TASS reported on Thursday. There were 15 people in total on the bus including the driver, eight of whom died instantly, the ninth died later in a hospital.
The Russian Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case on charges of terrorism in regard to the Ukrainian attack on a passenger bus in the LPR, Svetlana Petrenko, a spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, told TASS.
Vasily Nebenzia, Russia’s UN ambassador, called attention to the Kiev regime’s escalation of attacks on civilians during remarks to the UN Security Council on Aug. 24. “Having failed to achieve the desired results on the battlefield, the Kiev regime has now definitively slipped into outright terror against Russia’s civilian population. At the same time, Zelensky continues to beg his Western patrons for new shipments of weapons and ammunition, which are then used to hit Russian cities, residential areas and civilian infrastructure. The calculation is obvious: to intimidate people, sow chaos and destabilize the situation inside Russia. Terror has become the last resort for Kiev in its attempt to reverse the situation that is not currently in its favor,” he said.
