Yesterday President Trump signed an “Emergency Declaration”with regard to the US electricity grid. The Declaration is primarily focused on the supply chain and is aimed at preventing any further use of equipment or material coming from China. The measure imposed a ban on the purchase and installation of certain types of electrical equipment manufactured in other countries.
The document states that the ban applies to high-voltage transformers and “intelligent electronic devices.” The list also includes generators, inverters for solar and battery systems, and some other devices.
