[In comments to the plenary session of the State Duma](duma.gov.ru/news/63431/), Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin launched a major attack against England. “England’s role in the atrocities and in the creation of concentration camps is obvious,” Volodin said. “But this isn’t just swept under the rug: That same England does everything it can to create problems in other countries, emphasizing that they are not democratic and labeling them as such. Yet they themselves are the very instigators of the genocide of other nations and the creation of the fascist system.”

“They caused enormous harm to the entire world,” he continued. “The cries are still alive in India, Africa, and other countries. It was England that initiated all the bloodiest wars,” he said. These crimes, he noted, had to be brought to the attention of the international community. “Because many have suffered from them. And when they see that Russia is fighting this and doing everything possible to prevent the continuation of this policy, and, moreover, to return the funds and valuables that were reported [stolen] from other countries, this is important for the entire international community.”
