Guiding visiting delegates to the Third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow through an exhibition, President Vladimir Putin praised SpaceX Founder Elon Musk, and talked about the importance of the cooperation with the United States in space exploration. “Elon Musk is a genius,” Putin said, “He’s really brilliant. How many such devices does he have in orbit. Over 5,000. Over 5,000! And we’re only making the first steps. But we are proud of the fact that we have started to do it—and started to do it on our own,” he continued. “We are in close contact with our American partners, including Mr. Musk, because it is very important on the orbit not to interfere with each other, to follow a certain discipline and order. And we and our American partners, we value this together and together with him, despite all the political issues, we work closely.”
