The tiny Baltic nation of Estonia, population 1.4 million, has jumped into the London-led attempted strategic encirclement of Russia. “Estonia shifts troops closer to Russia in ‘active defense’ push,” the Financial Times reported Oct. 5, adding that the “Baltic state prepares to carry out deep strikes inside its neighbor if it is attacked.”
“Active defense” means “moving primary combat units from northern Estonia’s Tapa to Jõhvi—50 kilometers (31 miles) from the border with the Leningrad region,” the Moscow Times explained. “The country is also acquiring drones and ballistic missiles capable of striking up to 300 kilometers (186 miles) inside Russian territory.”
