The United States and Russia are discussing the possibility of building an LNG plant in Alaska using Russian liquefaction technology, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office, Maxim Oreshkin, announced on October 28 during a meeting with participants of the Russia-Africa Media Forum. “America is discussing with us its readiness to implement a natural gas liquefaction project based on Russian technology. Russia has become the first and only country in the world to develop the technology for producing turnkey plants on platforms located in coastal waters,” he said.

Oreshkin noted that a Center for the Construction of Large-Capacity Offshore Structures had been built in the Murmansk region for this purpose.
