In a video address on October 5, at a meeting dedicated to the opening of a new educational complex in the Far Eastern republic of Yakutia, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, “We set ourselves the goal of ensuring that every child—whether in a metropolis, a small town, a northern or Far Eastern village—has equal opportunities for a quality education, and the joint work of the state and business makes our common goal a reality.”
He noted that the complex was the joint result of philanthropists and Russian businesses which are involved in educating orphans, children from foster families, and children with disabilities. Because of the opening of this complex, more than a thousand children will be able to study and participate in clubs and activities at this institution.
