Italian scholar and author Fabio Massimo Parenti blasted the discussion about AI in the Collective West, counterposing it to the Chinese approach, in a La7 Italian television talk show.
“Data show that the only advanced nation, China, which currently competes with the US, according to some American indexes, and is partly going to surpass the US, acts politically, giving guidelines not only domestically, but in international cooperation as well. In September alone, 5,000 projects of joint training have been launched. These are data and facts, which we do not see in the European Union, which does not have a comparable development of artificial intelligence, we do not see them in the USA. (…) Those apocalyptic talks about machines that take control over Man do not exist in China, because politics has control over machines and man can plug or unplug [them], if planning is there. At our place, we proceed anarchically.
“(…) Supremacy, this hegemonism going from Tocqueville to extermination in Palestine, through thirty years of the Epstein network of pederasty and forced prostitution—if this is liberal, when we speak about liberalism we must erase those things: this division between liberal world and world of market socialism is gone… We have lost our connection with history. China has not.”
Parenti serves as an associate professor of International Studies at the China Foreign Affairs University in Beijing and teaches economic and political geography at the Lorenzo de’ Medici International Institute in Florence. He is a member of research groups including EURISPES and the BRICS Laboratory in Rome.
