Russian news service TASS reports that the Nauka multi-functional laboratory module, built for the International Space Station (ISS), has successfully passed its final trials in a vacuum chamber. Space agency Roscosmos has reported that Nauka will be transported to the Baikonur spaceport on July 21-23.

The current plan is for the module to be sent into orbit to join the ISS in the second quarter of 2021. One example experiment is called Vampire; it will create crystals for the latest infrared sensors that will be used on satellites of the Sfera orbital grouping.
