Poland isn’t the only Eastern European country that the U.S. is sending additional troops to. Yesterday, U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville was in Bucharest to discuss with Romanian Chief of the Defense Staff, Lt. Gen. Daniel Petrescu, how many additional U.S. troops will be going to Romania and where they would go. Petrescu welcomed the U.S. intention to supplement the effort to support security at the Black Sea through a continuous rotating presence, reported AgerPres, the Romanian national press agency. “We understand that we must continue to contribute to fulfilling our commitments and responsibilities, and that means continuing to allocate the necessary resources for defense,” Petrescu remarked.
