Rosatom Invites Argentine Nuclear Official to Visit Its Floating Nuclear Plant in Siberia

Argentina’s Mercopress reported June 15 that Kirill Komarov, the deputy director of Russia’s nuclear energy agency Rosatom, has invited Jose Luis Antunez, the new president of Nucleoeléctrica Argentina, the state agency that oversees Argentina’s three nuclear reactors, to visit its floating nuclear plant, the Akademik Lomonosov, located near the port of Pevek in Siberia. This comes amidst reports that Russia, via its ambassador in Buenos Aires, Dmitry Feoktistov, had raised with the Alberto Fernandez government a proposal to build two nuclear reactors in Argentina, one of which would be a floating plant.
