The costs to the U.S., U.K. and the European Union of their sanctions against Russia are not only economic but also diplomatic. Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vassily Nebenzia told the BBC in an interview yesterday that the West has lost all leverage over Moscow. “I do not think that assessment is right,” Nebenzia said, reported TASS, commenting on the BBC host’s statement that Russia has found itself isolated. “I’m not sure that your attempts to isolate Russia succeeded.
