Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto reiterated from Bucharest that NATO should not be drawn into a military confrontation with Russia in Ukraine. “We should keep in force the joint decisions NATO has earlier taken, which are that, on the one hand, we are not party to the conflict [in Ukraine], and on the other hand, we must do everything possible to not be drawn into a direct conflict with Russia. As it has become apparent at the meeting, there is a consensus on the issue that escalation of this war should be avoided at any cost, that is, that there should be no direct confrontation between NATO and Russia,” said Szijjarto at a press conference broadcast by the Hungarian M1 channel, which TASS reported.
