House Appropriations Bill Prohibits Funds to Two Blacklists

The House passed H.R. 8771, the State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs (SFOPS) 2025 Appropriations Bill, on June 28, 2024, by a largely party line vote, 212-200 (Republicans in favor, Dems opposed). In section 7070, “Additional Limitations on Operations and Assistance,” sub-section (j), the bill reads: “None of the funds appropriated or otherwise made available by this Act may be made available to the Data Journalism Agency or the Global Disinformation Index.” Data Journalism Agency is texty.org.ua; for the second, see The Global Disinformation Index.
