Orbán Argues at COP29 To Drive Climate Policy by Practicality, not Panic

Speaking at the COP29 conference in Baku, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that what was needed was a clear-headed and economically sustained climate strategy, which is crucial to protecting Hungary’s industries and agricultural base. He cautioned against ideology and fear-mongering. He advocated for a practical blend of traditional energy sources, such as oil, gas and nuclear energy along with green initiatives. Hungary is aiming at producing 70% of its electrical needs from nuclear power.
