Is Hungary Being Punished by the EU for Its Peace Policy?

The European Union has blocked a funding tranche of €1.04 billion to Hungary on the claim that it was in violation of statute law supremacy, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP). The European Commission concluded in July that Hungary did not meet the “democratic” standards of the EU.

But the decision raises the question of whether this is Brussels punishing Hungary for its peace policy concerning the Ukraine conflict.
