Iran Warns Again of Harsh Response If US Attacks

Tehran is continuing to issue vows of retaliation should the US attack, even in the runup to a U.S.-Iran meeting in Geneva on Feb. 17. Chairman of the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi has dismissed President Donald Trump’s recent military threats, warning that a battle with the Islamic Republic will be an unforgettable lesson for Trump, reported IRNA yesterday.

Responding to Trump’s war rhetoric against Iran during an event on Sunday, Mousavi said the remarks of a president, who claims to represent a superpower, are not worthy of a head of state and are reckless. He continued by asking the question: Why does Trump talk about negotiations if he intends to go to war? Mousavi warned, however, that entering into a conflict with Iran would lead to consequences that would prevent Trump from repeating such rhetoric anywhere in the world.
