Witnesses Contradict ICE Statement About Houston Killing

Evidence is mounting that the July 7 killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo while driving his work van in Houston, Texas was homicide and not an act of self defense as claimed by agents of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). As with many other recent deadly encounters, ICE agents falsely blame the victim. ICE agents claim that Salgado Araujo attempted to run-over the agents and that the agents were forced to fire their weapons in self defense. As usual, no evidence has been presented to support any of their claims.

Three passengers in the van who are now being detained separately all had the same story which contradicts the ICE distorted concoction. These witnesses said that it was not possible to run-over any federal agents because the agents were standing on both sides of the van—not in front or behind. After the arrests the agents did not even accuse them of attempting to run-over the agents, but instead said in a mocking tone that the migrants tried to escape. These witnesses said that a federal agent began shooting almost immediately after exiting his vehicle.
