Best wishes to India for Independence Day, Aug. 15, came from the International Space Station from three Russian cosmonauts this week. Orbiting the Earth 408 kilometers up, the three sent advance greetings to India on Aug. 11, holding the Indian Tricolor, and three special images celebrating the collaboration between Russians and Indians on space. Russian cosmonaut Pyotr Dubrov delivered a message of appreciation to the Indian people, and well wishes to India for peace and prosperity.

The Rosatom photograph of the three cosmonauts has been making headlines everywhere in India for the past 48 hours.

India is observing its 80th Independence Day this weekend, celebrating its freedom from Britain and terrible colonialist domination. This marks a victory for all humanity, and hope for the future.
