The countries making up NATO’s eastern front apparently want the alliance to be fully involved in the war in Ukraine. The leaders of Czechia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia—but not Hungary or Bulgaria—issued a joint statement yesterday expressing full support for Ukraine’s admission into NATO. “We support Ukraine in its defense against Russia’s invasion, demand [that Russia] immediately withdraw from all the occupied territories and encourage all allies to substantially increase their military aid to Ukraine,” the statement said, reported the Associated Press.
