Swedish Vice-Prime Minister Ebba Busch exposed high electricity prices in Europe as a necessary consequence of German insanity in shutting down nuclear plants. Bush tweeted Dec. 11: “The roller coaster of electricity prices is horrible. Tomorrow it will be just over SEK 8[/KWh, amounting to €695/MWh, or $730/MWh] in southern Sweden between 5-6 p.m. At different times we have extremely low prices. It is a result of decommissioned nuclear power. When it’s not windy, we get high electricity prices with this failed electricity system, as German electricity prices of about SEK10/kWh (€868/MWh, $912/MWh.) show. That is precisely why we are doing everything to rebuild the electricity system. The foundation for new nuclear power has already been laid, we protect hydropower.”
