Russia Warns Foreign Diplomats to Leave Kiev; Announces "Systematic Strikes" on Defense Industry

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced today that the Russian Armed Forces are launching “a series of systematic strikes” on Ukrainian military-industrial complex facilities in Kiev, reported TASS. The May 22 Starobelsk attack, in which Ukrainian drones killed 21 students at a trade-school dormitory in Lugansk, has been “the last straw.” The targets will include “specific sites for the design, production, programming, and preparation for the use of drones employed by the Kiev regime with the assistance of NATO specialists responsible for supplying components, providing intelligence, and guidance"—language that corroborates the involvement of NATO-country infrastructure in Ukrainian drone operations documented in this past weekend’s John Helmer reporting on the Lefkada drone incident in Greece.

The MFA further stated that “strikes will also be directed at decision-making centers and command posts,” and that because these facilities “are scattered throughout Kiev, we warn foreign citizens, including diplomatic mission and international organization representative office personnel, of the need to leave the city as soon as possible.” Kiev residents were warned not to approach “Zelensky’s regime’s military and administrative infrastructure facilities.”
