The insidious French President Emmanuel Macron is trying to whip up support for pursuit of the war against Russia among Europeans and to manipulate Trump against any peace effort. That was the gist of his intervention on Feb. 20 in a lengthy online meeting with French political supporters.
Macron promised that, during his visit to meet with the American President, which will begin on Monday, Feb. 24, he would warn Donald Trump against any sign of weakness towards Vladimir Putin. “I’m going to tell him ‘deep down, you can’t be weak against President Putin. It’s not you, it’s not your trademark, it’s not in your interest,’” Macron said. “How can you be credible with China if you’re weak with Putin?”
If you let Ukraine be taken by Putin, Russia “will be unstoppable for Europeans” because it “will take back Ukraine and its army, which is one of the biggest in Europe, with all our equipment, including American equipment. It’s a huge strategic mistake,” Macron continued. “It’s in his interest to work with the Europeans at this time.”
