The 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues will take place in Moscow over May 27-29 at Russia’s National Center, chaired by Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu, RT reported yesterday. Organizers expect more than 125 delegations from more than 100 countries across the Global South and East will participate, along with representatives from 14 international organizations—including the BRICS, ASEAN, the SCO, the CIS, and the EAEU. The majority of African countries have confirmed their attendance, including 45 delegations from more than 40 African countries and several continental organizations.
The central focus of the deliberations will be to foster international cooperation and establish a “fairer and more inclusive architecture of equal and indivisible security,” according to a statement issued by the Security Council. “The process of formulating key foreign policy decisions on international security and national sovereignty must be grounded in scientifically sound concepts, approaches, scenarios, and forecasts,” the Council said in a statement.
